Nursing Home, South Yorkshire; National Provider

Following our engagement with Peng Consultants to address safeguarding concerns raised by external agencies, we worked closely with the client to identify the root causes of these issues. Our analysis revealed that staff members were inadequately reporting incidents due to a limited understanding of safeguarding principles. In response, we developed and delivered comprehensive training programs for all staff at the home, which have significantly improved their understanding and application of essential topics such as preserving protocols, audit management, process optimisation, and practical clinical supervision strategies. Additionally, we implemented procedural changes to streamline data management workflows and enhance oversight for the registered manager and senior management team.
As part of our intervention, Peng Consultants conducted an in-depth audit, which highlighted significant gaps in external collaboration. To address this, we prioritised strengthening inter-agency relationships and established a multidisciplinary approach to resident care. This initiative has resulted in improved support from multiple external agencies, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and significantly raising the quality of care provided to residents.
Furthermore, our audit process identified opportunities for resource optimisation. We assisted the provider in selecting new suppliers that offer better value and improved inventory control. This ultimately contributed to enhancing healthcare services within the home, saving costs, and allowing busy nurses to spend more time with residents.
Live In Care Provider, Crewe, Cheshire

After collaborating with Peng Consultants, we realised that, despite operating for two years, we had struggled to attract clients for our live-in service. Our previous efforts to expand our client base in the local area had not been fruitful, leaving us feeling as if we had reached a dead end. After an RI CQC inspection revealed the need for improvement and highlighted challenges stemming from high staff turnover, including the loss of registered managers, we engaged Peng Consultants to help us navigate this. Their expertise proved invaluable in our recovery efforts.
Peng Consultants assigned an interim manager who swiftly implemented essential changes and spearheaded the recruitment of additional care staff over three months. This proactive approach led to a significant reduction in complaints related to staff lateness.
